Loneliness & Isolation

You do not have to feel alone

Loneliness is a support need, not a separate service pathway. Our counselling, listening and peer support services can help adults who feel lonely, isolated or disconnected rebuild confidence and meaningful connections.

Connection and understanding

Understanding loneliness and isolation

Loneliness can affect anyone. It may follow bereavement, retirement, a relationship ending, poor health, caring responsibilities, moving home or feeling disconnected from other people.

LilyAnne’s provides a welcoming place to talk, meet others, rebuild confidence and explore the support or community activities that may help you feel more connected.

Taking one small step towards connection can make a meaningful difference.

Support shaped around you

How we can help

Someone to talk to

A calm, non-judgemental space where you can talk openly and feel heard.

Building confidence

Gentle encouragement to help you feel more comfortable connecting with others.

Community connection

Opportunities to join coffee mornings, activities and welcoming community spaces.

Finding the right support

Practical signposting to LilyAnne’s services or other appropriate local organisations.

Appropriate and safe support

Loneliness support suitability

Loneliness support may be suitable for adults who feel isolated or disconnected, would benefit from supportive contact and can engage safely and respectfully with staff, volunteers and other visitors.

You would like a safe place to talk and feel heard.
You want to build confidence and connect with other people gradually.
You would benefit from community activities, listening support or signposting.

When specialist support is needed

When we may not be the right service

Loneliness support is not an emergency, crisis, addiction-treatment or specialist clinical service. If your needs cannot be supported safely within our service, we will explain this and, where appropriate, help identify a more suitable organisation.
