Build your experience within an established adult counselling service
LilyAnne’s Wellbeing provides counselling, listening support, peer support and wider wellbeing services for adults aged 18 and over.
Our counselling service supports people experiencing a wide range of mental health and wellbeing difficulties, with particular experience supporting autistic adults, people with ADHD and people who may face barriers to accessing traditional mental health services.
As an approved counselling placement provider, LilyAnne’s offers trainees the opportunity to build confidence, develop their therapeutic practice and complete placement hours through structured client work supported by clear professional standards.
FLEXIBLE PLACEMENT DELIVERY
Face-to-face and online counselling experience
Placements can include appointments delivered from our Wellbeing Hub in Hartlepool as well as online video counselling, helping trainees develop experience across different methods of therapeutic delivery.
IN PERSON
Face-to-face in Hartlepool
Deliver counselling appointments from our Wellbeing Hub in Hartlepool and gain experience working directly with adults in a community-based counselling environment.
REMOTE DELIVERY
Online video counselling
Placements may also include secure online video appointments, providing opportunities to develop confidence and competence in remote therapeutic work.
PLACEMENT REQUIREMENTS
What you need before starting
Our placement programme is designed for trainees who are ready to begin working directly with clients and meet the professional requirements of their course and membership body.
TRAINING
Level 5 Foundation Degree
Applicants should be undertaking a Level 5 Foundation Degree in Counselling or an appropriate equivalent professional counselling programme and must be approved by their training provider to begin working directly with clients.
PLACEMENT HOURS
Complete 100 hours
Applicants should be able to commit to completing 100 hours of counselling practice through their placement and maintain a consistent level of availability for client sessions.
SAFEGUARDING
DBS check
Applicants must hold an appropriate current DBS check or be able to complete the required DBS process before beginning work with LilyAnne’s clients.
PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS
Student membership
Trainees must hold current student membership with an appropriate professional body such as BACP, NCPS or UKCP and work within the relevant ethical framework and professional standards.
CLINICAL SUPERVISION
External clinical supervision
Trainees deliver their own counselling sessions with clients. In-house clinical supervision is not provided, so applicants must have appropriate external supervision arrangements that meet the requirements of their training provider and professional body.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS
Skills-based training
We do not currently accept placement applications from courses delivered entirely through distance learning where there is insufficient skills-based, experiential or practice-based training.
CLINICAL LEADERSHIP
Supported by experienced clinical leadership
LilyAnne’s Wellbeing is an approved provider of counselling services, supporting adults through accessible, community-based therapeutic support.
Our placement programme is led by Trevor Sherwood MSc, Project Lead at LilyAnne’s Wellbeing and an accredited counsellor.
Trevor holds professional counselling qualifications alongside a Master’s Degree in Psychology. His professional counselling profile and credentials are independently verified by Psychology Today.
