Hartlepool Suicide Prevention

We are working together with the Hartlepool Health and Wellbeing Alliance to support those who feel like they no longer want to be here. You can access local resources, banners, posters and beer mats to help support those struggling locally.

LilyAnne's Wellbeing is leading on suicide prevention within Hartlepool. We are actively raising awareness of the support available locally within Hartlepool while reducing the stigma of suicide and supporting saving local lives by promoting local support available within Hartlepool.

The aim of the Hartlepool Suicide Prevention campaign is to raise awareness locally that there are lots of places locally where people can access support if they feel like they cannot go on, which includes our support on the high street campaign.

Our campaign raises awareness of support available within public spaces, local schools, colleges and universities and contains a QR code which links people to a number of organisations working together locally to support those experiencing mental health by helping them access the best support when it comes to feelings of not wanting to be here anymore.

Why was the campaign launched?

Young people in Hartlepool felt they had no place to turn and no place that would support them. Despite there being a vast amount of support available locally school, college and university-aged people didn't believe they'd be good enough to access support so we set about changing that perception.

Every single suicide in preventable and by our young people being aware of the support available locally they are able to help us spread the message of the support available right now when people need it the most.

What can I do if a friend is struggling?

The best advice to to tell them you are here for them and redirect them to a local professional support who will be able to support them, make them aware of help and support available locally especially local crisis walk-in support and the mental health crisis team numbers who are here to help.
