Sacha Bedding MBE has been one of the key inspirations behind the growth and development of LilyAnne’s Wellbeing as a charity. Through his passion for community organising, people-led change and grassroots development, Sacha helped shape the belief that communities themselves hold the power to create meaningful and lasting change.
From the early stages of LilyAnne’s Wellbeing, Sacha provided encouragement, guidance and opportunities which supported us to grow in confidence, vision and impact. Through participation in leadership, development and community programmes, he helped us better understand how to build sustainable, people-focused support rooted within the heart of the community.
One phrase Sacha often shared was:
“If you can’t be anything, be kind.”
That message continues to sit at the heart of LilyAnne’s Wellbeing and reflects the way we aim to support every person who walks through our doors.
His support helped strengthen our approach around listening to people, empowering lived experience, developing partnerships and creating services that are shaped by real community need rather than assumptions.
The values of kindness, community connection, early intervention, grassroots leadership and compassionate support that continue to define LilyAnne’s Wellbeing today have all been influenced by the encouragement and opportunities Sacha helped create along the way.
We remain incredibly grateful for the belief, support and guidance he has provided throughout our journey and for the role he has played in helping LilyAnne’s Wellbeing grow into the organisation it is today.
